Schedule: 10 months

Salary: Paid in accordance with Delaware and local salary schedules, based upon experience and degree.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Utilizes the district approved curriculum
• Plans and implements a program of academic studies for which the individual is employed
• Works closely with colleagues within the department when planning the academic program
• Provides and maintains an educational environment supportive of learning
• Plans a program of evaluation relative to course objectives and student progress
• Follows IEP plans and 504 plans, as required
• Identifies student needs and actively works toward satisfying those needs
• Effectively communicates with parents, relating information of relevance and meaning
• Uses the state and district approved vendor(s) for storing student data
• Establishes and maintains appropriate standards of behavior management

• Possesses knowledge of mathematical best practices of instruction
• Possesses experience in technology-based instruction and analyzes data to make informed decisions about students' instructional needs
• Possesses knowledge and experience in Common Core, state standards

Required Qualifications

• Applicants must meet State of Delaware certification requirements and possess highly qualified teacher status in high school mathematics

Preferred Qualifications

• Secondary teaching experience
• Willingness to perform extra-duty functions
• Dually Certified in Special Education.

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the CBA between the SEA and the Smyrna Board of Education and the DTGSS Performance Appraisal System
