Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active state license required to apply Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: General Emergency Department experience Combined Adult/Pediatric care experience Level II Trauma Center experience Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills IV therapy and phlebotomy skills Description: The position is for an Emergency Department Registered Nurse. Shifts will be either 4x12s or 3x12s, covering nights from 19:00 to 07:30. The average daily census is approximately 120 patients within a 32-bed emergency department. Patient ratios are 1:4 for all shifts. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Weekend work is required as needed. All relevant certifications such as ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC are required. Floating may occur to meet facility needs, and block scheduling is not available. Candidates must be local or have an appropriate license. Time off requests should ideally not exceed five days. The role requires experience in various clinical scenarios, including but not limited to: CVA, ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury. If applicable, candidates should also have experience in managing chest tube insertion, intubation, and ventilated patients. Additional requirements include administering medications for various emergencies, such as IV vasopressors and procedural sedation. The facility prioritizes a safe work environment with protocols for isolation precautions and triage. Candidates should also be familiar with charting systems. Cerner experience is preferred but not required. This role supports a diverse patient demographic, including neonates, adolescents, and geriatrics. The team consists of interdisciplinary support from various healthcare professionals. The emergency department manages a wide range of patient diagnoses, including stroke, trauma, and chest pain.
