Retail Relationship Banker

Responsibilities Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects by identifying needs and providing advice on financial solutions that best serve them. Work collaboratively with branch staff and BMO partners across channels to deliver a consistent customer experience and achieve business objectives. Proactively engage existing customers and prospects, conducting needs‑based assessments to grow loyalty and identify opportunities. Lead outreach, generate appointments, and build new relationships within the community. Provide customer transactions, including digital and self‑serve options, making banking easy, simple, and fast while maintaining risk‑management compliance and protecting the bank’s assets. Apply risk‑management framework, screen for compliance, and make credit recommendations for personal lending and home financing in accordance with sound principles and bank policies. Integrate marketing promotions and programs into conversations, organize information for accuracy, and seek continual improvement of the overall customer experience. Perform additional tasks as assigned, handling escalations, analyzing issues, and meeting regulatory requirements, including reporting suspicious activities. Qualifications Typically 2–3 years of relevant experience or a post‑secondary degree in a related field. For Canada: Completed registration to sell investment products as required, appropriate lending qualifications and designations. For the U.S.: Federal registration under Regulation Z, Regulation G, and the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (S.A.F.E. Act) required. Working knowledge of personal and small business customer needs, retail investments, and lending products. Experience in financial services and a consultative customer‑service or sales role. Competent in social media, tablets, smartphones, online tools, and applications. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, listen, solve problems, and adapt creatively to new challenges. Verbal and written communication, organization, collaboration, and analytical skills all rated as good. Ability to thrive in a team‑based, results‑focused environment and to be a self‑starter with courage and confidence when approaching customers. Benefits & Compensation Salary: $41,714.00 – $65,000.00 (Salaried). May include commissions and performance‑based incentives as part of the total compensation package.
