About the Position

Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: CT Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred. License: Registered in Radiologic Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); or a permanent certification in Radiography. Certifications: Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card. Must-Have: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Description: Following established protocol and under the supervision of certified radiologists, CT technologists will produce computerized tomography scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas as ordered by the physician. Technologists will assist the radiologists on procedures as needed and will be responsible for supervising student radiologic technologists assigned to them. Encouraging and maintaining good customer relations is essential. Responsibilities include the care and safety of patients during imaging procedures, utilizing age-appropriate care. Efficiently using time to accomplish patient care assignments while meeting work quality, quantity, and timeliness expectations is crucial. Assisting in the clinical education of student technologists is expected. Efficient utilization of imaging equipment with attention to minimizing repeat examinations. Using supplies with an emphasis on cost containment is required. Instructing and preparing patients regarding imaging procedures and assisting in obtaining informed consent as needed. Ensuring patient's understanding of procedures and responding actively and sensitively to the needs of internal and external customers is important. Ensuring correct orders, diagnoses, and clinical history are entered into the computer system. Effective communication with radiologists regarding procedures in both verbal and written forms while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor is necessary. Adhering to hospital, departmental, and safety policies and procedures. Practicing good radiation protection and following established guidelines for safety organizations is required. Completing annual mandatory in-services and maintaining licensure requirements is expected. Maintaining confidentiality of medical and sensitive information is a must. Intermittent responsibilities include assisting other members of the imaging team and demonstrating flexibility and accountability in job duties. Taking initiative towards improving departmental operations and consistently completing required tasks is necessary. Frequent standing and walking, along with moving patients, is part of the job. Intermittent lifting, moving, or carrying up to 50 lbs may be required. Exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue may occur. Work may involve stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours. May be required to work weekends or holidays based on departmental needs. Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations is preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform and teach CT exams to produce satisfactory diagnostic images for interpretation is preferred. Ability to operate standard office equipment is necessary.
