This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.Position OverviewWe are seeking a Software Engineering Intern with a strong focus on Ignition, a solution for smart manufacturing and digital transformation. This role involves designing, developing, and testing software applications within manufacturing environments. The candidate will have experience with Ignition's platform, software quality assurance, and agile development practices. The candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, scalable, and user-friendly applications are delivered on time.At Brunswick, we have passion for our work and a distinct ability to deliver.Essential FunctionsDevelop and test applications using the Ignition platformCollaborate with developers and stakeholders to define software requirementsTroubleshoot and resolve software issues in a timely mannerContribute to continuous improvement of development and testing processesInternship Project OpportunitiesDevelop a new Ignition applicationWrite a test script for testing applications with IgnitionTest existing applications within IgnitionDiversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.Required Qualifications:Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related fieldProficient in working independently and contributing meaningfully to team effortsBasic understanding of software development principles and testing methodologiesFamiliarity with Ignition by Inductive Automation or interest in learning SCADA/HMI platformsExperience or coursework in app development using languages such as Python, JavaScript, or SQLStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective communication and collaboration abilitiesSelf-motivated with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environmentExperience in the manufacturing industryExperience with Ignition platformCandidates must be authorized to work in the United States immediately, without the need for sponsorship, now or in the futurePreferred Qualifications:Experience in the manufacturing industryExperience with Ignition platformWorking Conditions:Learning Opportunities: Our Student Program is designed to provide hands-on experience in a professional setting.
