Description:
The Division of Community Health Services is seeking a Dental Assistant applicant.
This role provides patient-centered dental assistant services in accordance with Provider Practice Guidelines for Dental Public Health and the Tennessee Dental Practice Act.
Applicants should be customer-focused, self-motivated, and team-oriented, with a willingness to travel as needed throughout the region.


Key Responsibilities:
Assemble dental supplies and instruments and ensure pertinent dental exam records are available before patient seating.
Use a 4-handed technique while assisting the dentist and disinfect operatory and sterilize instruments after every dental patient treatment.
Provide appropriate post-treatment education for patients.
Manage and maintain equipment and supplies, including autoclave, ultrasonic cleaner, and dental unit water lines.
Monitor expiration dates and prepare dental supply orders.
Expose and prepare x-rays for review, meeting infection control and safety guidelines.
Assist in completing patient dental health records in both electronic and paper formats.
Ensure accomplishment of daily productivity goals.
Manage priorities and individual efficiency to assist in meeting identified goals for encounters.
Collaborate with local management to address clinic flow and staffing concerns.
Maintain a positive, constructive, and cooperative work environment.


Qualifications Required:
Possession of current registration as a dental assistant with dental radiology certification.
This position requires a current driver's license, CPR certification, and a background check.


Preferred Qualifications:
Possession of certifications in coronal polishing, nitrous oxide monitoring, and dental sealant placement.
