Position Purpose The Service Supervisor is responsible for supporting front-end operations by providing leadership, ensuring outstanding customer service, and maintaining efficient workflow throughout the store's service areas. This position supervises front-end associates, assists with customer concerns, supports operational execution, and helps achieve sales, service, and productivity goals. Key Responsibilities Customer Service Deliver exceptional customer service and promote a positive shopping experience. Assist customers with questions, concerns, refunds, exchanges, and service-related issues. Resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly. Promote company programs, services, and customer loyalty initiatives. Serve as a role model for customer service excellence. Front-End Operations Supervise daily front-end activities, including check stands, self-checkout, and customer service functions. Monitor customer traffic and deploy associates as needed to maintain efficient service levels. Ensure proper execution of cash handling, register operations, and loss prevention procedures. Assist with opening, closing, and shift transition responsibilities. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe customer service environment. Leadership and Team Development Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to front-end associates. Assist with training and onboarding new employees. Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment. Monitor employee performance and provide constructive feedback. Support adherence to company policies, procedures, and service standards. Operational Compliance Ensure compliance with company policies, workplace safety requirements, and operational procedures. Monitor proper handling of cash, transactions, refunds, and sensitive customer information. Support audit readiness and compliance initiatives. Identify and communicate operational concerns to store management. Assist in maintaining accurate records and documentation as required. Financial Performance Support front-end productivity and labor goals. Assist in minimizing cash shortages and operational losses. Monitor service levels to drive customer satisfaction and repeat business. Support execution of promotional programs and store initiatives. Contribute to achieving overall store sales and operational objectives. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous retail, customer service, or grocery experience required. Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Strong customer service and conflict-resolution skills. Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities. Ability to effectively lead and motivate employees in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, lift, and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds regularly and more with assistance when necessary. Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the workday. Ability to work flexible hours as business needs require. Work Environment Retail grocery store environment. Frequent interaction with customers and employees. Fast-paced environment requiring strong multitasking and decision-making skills. Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
