We walk with swagger and believe that we are “a really big deal!” Position Description: The Manager, Community Engagement supports the Director of Community Engagement in advancing Nine PBS’s mission through strategic partnership development, community engagement, project coordination, and cross-department collaboration. This role helps cultivate and steward relationships with community organizations, leaders, and stakeholders; supports the planning and execution of community events and engagement opportunities; and contributes to the successful implementation of Impact team initiatives. The ideal candidate is a proactive relationship-builder with strong organizational, communication, and project management skills. They are comfortable managing multiple priorities, coordinating across teams, analyzing community feedback and engagement data, and representing Nine PBS in community settings. This individual demonstrates professionalism, adaptability, sound judgment, and a commitment to community engagement. The Manager embraces feedback, builds strong partnerships, effectively supports the Director of Community Engagement, and helps ensure Nine PBS remains a trusted and responsive community partner. Primary Responsibilities: Strategic Partnership Support Maintain community partner databases and relationship management systems. Research prospective partners, stakeholders, and engagement opportunities. Support outreach, meeting coordination, follow-up communications, and relationship stewardship. Track partnership activities, commitments, and outcomes. Community Engagement & Event Coordination Coordinate logistics for community events, convenings, listening sessions, and partner meetings. Represent Nine PBS at community events and meetings, as assigned. Manage event registration, materials, venue coordination, catering, and day-of support. Collect, organize, and summarize community feedback, engagement data, and emerging trends. Program & Project Coordination Coordinate projects involving multiple community partners and internal teams. Schedule meetings and manage project timelines and logistics. Develop presentations, reports, one-pagers, and engagement materials. Support cross-department initiatives that advance community engagement goals. Communications & Reporting Draft partner communications, agendas, meeting summaries, and follow-up materials. Document partnership outcomes, success stories, and community impact. Maintain organized records, files, and engagement data. Team & Organizational Support Provide administrative and logistical support for Community Impact initiatives and special projects. Participate in departmental, organizational, and supervisor meetings. Collaborate across teams to support organizational priorities. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Community Development, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Education, Marketing, Business, or a related field. 1-3 years of experience in community engagement, nonprofit organizations, project coordination, event planning, public service, or stakeholder engagement. Strong organizational, project management, and relationship-building skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively. Experience coordinating meetings, events, and community-based initiatives preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint. Experience with or ability to learn CRM and project management platforms such as Salesforce, Monday.com, Asana, or similar tools. Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms, survey tools, and social media platforms. Demonstrated commitment to community engagement and working effectively with diverse stakeholders. Strong attention to detail, professionalism, sound judgment, and ability to handle confidential information. Reliable transportation and willingness to attend occasional evening and weekend community events throughout the St. Louis region. Hybrid Schedule: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule, typically working 1-2 days virtually each week, with supervisor approval. Must work on-site on Tuesdays, as well as attend all team meetings, one-on-one meetings, and all-staff meetings.
