Senior Development Accountant

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year Location: Cincinnati, Ohio – Hybrid. After onboarding and training, enjoy a flexible schedule with approximately four days per week in the office and one day remote. Note: Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 3+ years of direct real estate development accounting experience. Job Description Manage the complete accounting lifecycle for multiple real estate development projects from pre-development through transition to operations. Lead monthly construction loan and equity draw processes while ensuring timely funding and payment of project costs. Prepare and analyze project cash flow forecasts, financial projections, budgets, and pro formas. Coordinate project closings, financing activities, and accounting entries with lenders, investors, title companies, and internal teams. Prepare and review sources and uses schedules, developer fee schedules, and equity installment schedules. Oversee construction costs, job costing, project funding, and financial reporting. Manage tax credit compliance and cost certification activities for LIHTC, Historic Tax Credits, and New Markets Tax Credit projects. Partner with auditors, investors, and leadership during audits and financial reviews. Prepare year-end accruals, development workpapers, and financial analyses for executive leadership. Mentor and collaborate with accounting and project teams while driving process improvements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3+ years of direct real estate development accounting experience. Strong knowledge of construction accounting, project accounting, and development finance. Experience managing construction draws, loan funding, and project cash flow. Excellent Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities. Experience working with lenders, investors, auditors, and development teams. Experience with Yardi or similar real estate ERP preferred. Knowledge of LIHTC, Historic Tax Credits, or New Markets Tax Credits preferred. CPA or MBA preferred.
