Division of Integrated Health, Safety and ResponseServices Cougar Connections Center of Social Work Director of Social Work Reporting to the Chief Well-Being Officer, the Director of SocialWork (Director 4) will support Kean University's mission byoverseeing campus and community services that foster studentpersistence and well-being. This role involves supervising a teamof social workers and professional staff who help students accessvital resources and cultivate a strong sense of belonging,ultimately enhancing their daily lives and overall studentexperience. The Director will support a team of employees who willconnect students with essential campus and community support forsocial, economic, emotional, and behavioral challenges, includingissues related to food insecurity, housing, financial well-being,life skills development and family crises. Additionally, theDirector will serve as a resource for Kean faculty and staffthrough community engagement and expansion of basic need servicesto promote student success and graduation. The Director collaborates with Student Affairs, Academic Affairs,the Wellness Center, the Division of Student Success and Retentionand other faculty and staff across the Kean University community.This role provides essential support services to students,fostering individual success and belonging. Responsibilities alsoinclude research, maintaining department data, preparing budgetsand generating reports. This position requires a flexible schedule including evening andweekend hours. Travel is also required, including travel to Kean’sNew Jersey campus locations. This is an on-campus positionrequiring a flexible physical presence across all campus locationsas determined by leadership. Qualifications: MSW degree and two or more years of social workexperience with increasing responsibility is required. LSW or LCSWand experience in higher education, crisis intervention and/orstudent wellness is preferred. Candidate must have experience withprogram development and implementation; experience in working withat risk populations, behavior intervention teams, trauma responseand/or community engagement; excellent oral and writtencommunication skills; and proficiency in Microsoft Office andsocial media platforms.
