This role focuses on safely operating stand-up and sit-down forklifts to support shipping, receiving, and material handling in a food manufacturing warehouse. The position is responsible for loading and unloading products, accurately preparing orders for shipment, and maintaining high quality and food safety standards. The role works on swing and night shifts and requires consistent attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and effective organization of materials and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments using forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
• Verify shipment quantities and inspect product quality to ensure orders meet established standards.
• Report any order discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to supervisors promptly.
• Complete all shipping and receiving documentation, including bills of lading and invoices, accurately and on time.
• Pick, stage, and load finished products onto trucks according to shipping schedules and customer requirements.
• Store materials and finished goods properly in designated warehouse areas to maintain organization and product integrity.
• Supply raw materials such as corn and flour to production lines to ensure continuous manufacturing operations.
• Package products for shipping using shrink wrap, labels, and boxes in accordance with company and customer specifications.
• Safely operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts and other material handling equipment to move products, pallets, and materials throughout the facility.
• Perform routine equipment checks and basic inspections on forklifts and related tools to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards to support efficient workflow and safety compliance.
• Track inventory levels and shipments, ensuring accurate documentation of materials moving in and out of the warehouse.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage, contamination, or non-conformance and take appropriate action when issues are identified.
• Maintain accurate records and counts for inventory, shipping, and receiving activities using established systems and procedures.
• Follow GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and all applicable food safety rules and regulations at all times.
• Clean equipment, storage areas, and warehouse spaces regularly to support sanitation requirements in a food manufacturing environment.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures and guidelines consistently.
• Handle materials and pallets efficiently, including stacking, palletizing, and organizing products for safe storage and transport.

Essential Skills

• Proven forklift operating skills, including stand-up and sit-down forklift experience.
• At least 1 year of forklift experience preferred in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Experience in shipping and receiving operations, including loading, unloading, and documentation.
• Ability to perform material handling tasks, including moving, lifting, and palletizing products.
• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and handle physical aspects of warehouse work.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations and processes in a manufacturing or distribution setting.
• Understanding of food safety practices and procedures relevant to a food manufacturing warehouse.
• Ability to follow GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and other safety and sanitation standards.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in verifying quantities, quality, and documentation.
• Strong organizational skills for maintaining orderly storage areas and accurate inventory records.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience working in a food manufacturing warehouse environment.
• Familiarity with packaging processes such as shrink wrapping, labeling, and boxing products.
• Ability to complete shipping and receiving paperwork, including bills of lading and invoices.
• Comfort using personal protective equipment and adhering to safety protocols.
• Ability to work swing or night shifts (such as 3 p.m., 7 p.m., or 9 p.m. start times) as required.
• Basic understanding of inventory tracking and recordkeeping practices.
• Reliability and willingness to support production by supplying raw materials to lines.

The facility follows strict GMP, HACCP, and OSHA guidelines, and team members are expected to use appropriate personal protective equipment and maintain clean, organized work areas. The environment is active and fast-paced, requiring comfort with standing, lifting, and working around production lines and warehouse operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove, CA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
