Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit / Clinical Decision Unit

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed inpatient overflow unit serving a mixed level of care including medical-surgical and step-down patients
• Monitor and manage telemetry for all patients hardwired to bedside monitors as indicated
• Care for short-stay patients with a length of stay under 24 hours, adapting to a fast-paced, high-turnover environment
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 depending on level of care, collaborating with charge nurses and CNAs on both day and night shifts
• Document accurately and efficiently using Cerner EMR
• Float to other units as needed per facility guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care or Step-Down setting
• Demonstrated telemetry competency
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Current ACLS certification (required)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Recent progressive care or step-down experience strongly preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Positive, patient-experience-focused attitude with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
