Research Assistant Professor in Radiology, Research Position Overview Organization: Radiology Title: Research Assistant Professor in Radiology, Research Position Description The Department of Radiology at the University of Washington is recruiting for one full-time (100% FTE) faculty position at the level of Research Assistant Professor with an anticipated, but flexible, start date of July 1, 2027. Research Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the mission of the Department of Radiology and to develop and maintain an independent funded research program. They will also be expected to form an independent funded research program in imaging of diseases and utilizing radiology imaging methods (e.g. MRI, PET, CT, US, or other modalities). Ideally this program will include UW Medicine investigators from Radiology, Oncology, Neurology, and other relevant medical disciplines. In addition, the successful candidate will be encouraged to form collaborations with researchers in the College of Engineering and other schools, potentially including joint appointments where appropriate. This position will also be expected to support teaching, research, and administrative missions in the Imaging Research Laboratory, the Department of Radiology, and the UW School of Medicine. All UW faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. The base salary range for this position will be: $8,750 - $11,667 per month ($105,000 - $140,004 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
