Maintenance Technician

This role offers the opportunity to work as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing facility that produces paper-based containers and boxes. You will perform preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance on a wide range of industrial equipment, including conveyor systems, to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting and repair on a variety of industrial equipment, with a strong focus on conveyor systems and related machinery.
• Carry out preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and extend the life of equipment, following established schedules and procedures.
• Execute predictive maintenance activities by monitoring equipment condition and identifying potential issues before they lead to failures.
• Respond to reactive maintenance needs by diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical problems in a timely manner.
• Work with mechanical systems such as motors, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics to maintain and restore equipment functionality.
• Support electrical maintenance tasks, including working with 3-phase systems and assisting with wiring and connections as needed.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to guide troubleshooting and repair activities.
• Perform PLC and electrical troubleshooting to identify faults and assist in restoring automated systems to proper operation.
• Conduct maintenance repair activities on conveyor systems and associated equipment to keep production lines running efficiently.
• Use welding and basic fabrication skills, when needed, to repair or reinforce equipment components.
• Document maintenance activities, findings, and repairs to support accurate records and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize work, minimize downtime, and maintain a safe working environment.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
• Hands-on experience working with conveyor systems or other industrial machinery.
• Strong mechanical background, including experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, 3-phase motors, and pumps.
• Proficiency in industrial maintenance practices, including preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance.
• Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and related equipment.
• Experience reading and interpreting mechanical schematics, blueprints, and equipment documentation.
• Basic welding skills for repair and maintenance of industrial equipment.
• Ability to work safely and effectively with 3-phase electrical systems at a basic level.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose issues systematically under time-sensitive conditions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Electrical experience with 480V systems and 3-phase motor wiring.
• Ability to read and understand electrical wiring schematics and circuitry.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting in an industrial environment.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting to support automated systems.
• Familiarity with industrial electrical components and controls.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with rotating or alternative shifts.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility that produces paper products and boxes, including a significant amount of conveyor and industrial equipment. You will work around active production lines, industrial machinery, and automated systems, requiring adherence to safety procedures and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment. The role operates on rotating night shifts, including a 3-on/2-off and 2-on/3-off schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., or a 4-on/4-off shift pattern, depending on operational needs. The environment is industrial in nature, with typical manufacturing conditions such as noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Magnolia, MS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
