Job Description
Join Our Dynamic Trauma ICU Team as a Night Shift RN!


- Shift: 12H Nights, 7p-7a; Every Other Weekend (EOW) Required
- Location Highlights:
- Daily parking available at $15+/day
- Multiple on/off campus garage options for monthly parking pass ranging from $95 - $120
- Unit Overview:
- Large Level 1 Trauma Center with a busy environment
- 12 Beds in SICU (6CA) with nurse:patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3, depending on acuity
- Requirements:
- Experience: 3+ years in a busy hospital setting; previous travel experience preferred
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
- Floating: Open to floating within other ICUs
- Patient Types:
- Liver/kidney transplants
- Vascular surgeries like endarterectomies and fem/pop bypass
- Complex ENT procedures for cancer and facial reconstructions
- Critical surgical cases, including abdominal and mastectomy surgeries
- Essential Skills:
- Early recognition of patient condition changes
- Strong communication and escalation skills with providers
- Critical thinking, CRRT, hemodynamic monitoring
- Competency with chest tubes, ventilators, and various surgical drains
- Other Details:
- Charge nurses may take assignments depending on staffing needs
- Nurse Aides/Patient Care Techs available intermittently for ADLs and transportation
- Hospitalist & Intensivist available in-house 24/7 in the ICU
- RT available in ICU 24/7 with equipment like vents and high flow devices
- Shift Scheduling:
- Based on unit needs; no self-scheduling
- Weekend requirements of 4-6 days in 6 weeks depending on coverage
- Minimal standby requirement, mainly for low census situations
- Dress Code:
- Teal bottoms with black or coordinating scrub tops
- No fleece jackets; professional appearance mandatory
