Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical/Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:30 PM - 07:00 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Critical thinking skills - Decisive judgment - Ability to work with minimal supervision - Capability to work in a stressful environment Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions as appropriate. Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patients' discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Travelers are required to work weekends and holidays based on department needs. This unit serves adult patients and has telemetry capability. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6. Support is provided by PCTs and a healthcare unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available, as well as monitor techs to observe telemetry patients. NIH is required.
