As the Patient Access Representative joining our team, you're embracing a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier ®. As a Patient Access Representative , you'll be an important first point of contact for patients, helping ensure a welcoming and seamless experience from registration through the start of care. You'll collect and verify patient and insurance information, assist with authorizations and payments, and provide clear, compassionate service while protecting patient privacy and confidentiality. We offer a wide range of surgical services as well as specialty programs including Cardiac CTA, Digital Mammography, and Trauma Services. How You'll Contribute As a Patient Access Representative, you will excel in this role by: Creating a welcoming first impression by providing compassionate, professional, and respectful service to patients and families. Accurately collecting and entering patient information including demographic, insurance, billing, and financial information. Navigating insurance and authorization requirements by verifying benefits, obtaining necessary authorizations, and helping ensure a smooth registration process. Communicating with confidence and clarity by explaining forms, processes, financial responsibilities, and next steps to patients and families. Protecting patient privacy and confidentiality while handling sensitive health, insurance, and financial information with care. Thriving in a fast-paced environment by managing multiple priorities, learning new systems quickly, and adapting to changing patient and department needs. Making a meaningful impact on the patient experience by serving as a trusted first point of contact and helping patients feel informed, supported, and prepared for their care. What We’re Looking For High school diploma preferred or an equivalent combination of education and applicable experience. Strong customer service skills with a warm, professional approach to working with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately collect, verify, and enter sensitive patient, insurance, and financial information. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain information clearly and professionally, both in person and by phone. Critical thinking and sound judgment with the ability to make decisions, resolve routine issues, and know when to seek additional assistance. Comfort discussing financial responsibilities with patients in a respectful, clear, and compassionate manner. Technology skills and adaptability with the ability to learn multiple software systems quickly, manage competing priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
