The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department and the review of monthly financial statements to ensure compliance with GAAP. A successful candidate will be a self-starter, with strong attention to detail, and analytical skills. This is a full-time, in office, position and reports to the Controller.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Manage the timely preparation and review of financial statements during the 5-day month-end close process and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations.
• Manage sales tax, property tax, and other required regulatory filing requirements.
• Continuously evaluate existing financial processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improving efficiency. Leverage the capabilities of NetSuite and other systems to implement enhancements.
• Responsible for exploring and implementing new accounting automation solutions and integrating new technology into the accounting system.
• Monitor compliance with debt agreements.
• Coordinate and oversee the annual budget process for each camp resort.
• Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, and providing ongoing training.
• Participate in other projects and activities as assigned.

Education/Training/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required. CPA or MBA is preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience with 4+ years in supervisory role.
• Experience with NetSuite ERP system is preferred or 4+ years of experience with ERP solutions.
• Experience with evaluating, implementing, and monitoring new software or technology solutions to automate or improve inefficient processes.
• Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Excel is required.
