About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years of Emergency Room experience License: Valid state RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI Must-Have: Experience in a Level I Trauma Center, stroke-certified, and STEMI-certified facility preferred Comfortable with triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency medications, procedural sedation, ventilated patients, trauma, psych holds, and pediatric emergency care Description: The Registered Nurse provides care in the Emergency Department. Shifts are from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The nurse will handle a patient ratio of 1:3.5. Epic documentation is utilized for charting. Floating is required as part of job duties. Weekend shifts will be required every other or every third weekend. First-time travelers are accepted for this position. The nurse will be part of a dynamic team supporting various patient age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily visits to the Emergency Department can average around 210. Additional interdisciplinary support is available including respiratory services and pharmacy. Skills required include arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, emergency medications, and the management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure. The position requires strong teamwork and effective communication skills.
