CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled CVOR Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in open heart and/or endovascular procedures, along with the ability to scrub into surgeries and assist in holding the heart and closing the chest.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the CVOR setting, including scrubbing and circulating during procedures.
• Assist in patient management and support during open heart, TAVR, and thoracic surgeries.
• Coordinate with the OR team and participate in pre-and post-operative care.
• Maintain patient safety and ensure adherence to protocols and practices in the operating room.

Unit Details

This unit features 16 surgical suites, with an average of 30 cases per day, including 1-2 heart cases. The team comprises dedicated technology and support staff, including 8 OR technicians.

Shift Information

• Standard shifts run from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with shift negotiability.
• Call requirement: One weekday per week and one weekend per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) in rotation with staff.
• Response time for call is 30 minutes, with a call room available on-site for team members.

Qualifications

• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS preferred.
• Experience in open heart and/or endovascular procedures is required.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license is mandatory.
• Scrubbing skills are necessary.

Floating Requirements

Staff may be required to float to the General OR on an as-needed basis if no CVOR cases are available. In cases of extreme need, floating within designated zones may occur.

Dress Code

Hospital-provided scrubs (light blue) are required for all staff members.

Orientation

Department-specific orientation will be conducted over one week to ensure proper training and integration into the unit.

Cancellation Policy

The facility reserves the right to cancel up to four shifts during a 13-week assignment or three shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks.

Charting System

The electronic health record system used is EPIC.
