Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $1940 per week.

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• BSN completion preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Missouri license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - BJC Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - BJC Health System.

Additional Details:

RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe.

No medical marijuana cards accepted.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: First-time travelers are not accepted. Required skills: telemetry remote monitoring, colostomy care, feeding tube care and management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, starting IVs, heparin, insulin, PCA, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias.

Unit Details: Adult GI/GU medical-surgical unit with ostomy, colon resection, colon cancer, bladder cancer, GU, and medical overflow patients; high-turnover surgery patient unit. Uses centralized telemetry. Common unit therapies/procedures include heparin, lidocaine (pain only), bicarb, bivalirudin, and occasional stable non-titrated amiodarone drips; PCAs, epidurals, CBIs with different irrigation solutions, foleys, TURPs, and colorectal patient protocols.

Shift & Scheduling: BJC policy: Every other weekend required. No call required. RTO: No more than 7 days.

Floating Requirements: Float within service line.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
