Physician - Pain Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Additional Job Description West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation are recruiting a Pain Medicine physiatrist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The candidate will practice in Wheeling, WV. Candidates should possess excellent clinical skills and a strong interest in education and research. Clinical and basic science research is encouraged and supported. Laboratory facilities are available. All faculty are required to take an active role in our integrated residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Qualified candidates will have a special interest in the medical management of rehabilitation needs for neurologic and general rehabilitation patients, with procedural skills in spasticity management. Electrodiagnostic procedures are available. Duties Practice in the area of physical medicine and rehabilitation and interventional spine and pain management. Provide excellent patient care. Actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Qualifications MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and eligibility for a state medical license. Completed Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency program and board certified/eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Completed one year of a NASS-interventional spine and musculoskeletal fellowship, or an ACGME Pain Medicine or ACGME (Interventional) Sports Medicine fellowship. A private practice fellowship is acceptable. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. ACGME board eligible/certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine or (interventional) Sports Medicine, or hold a certificate of completion from a NASS-Interventional Spine and MSK program or another private interventional spine/pain fellowship program. Position is primarily outpatient service with opportunities for electrodiagnostic evaluations, ultrasound-guided procedures, spasticity management, prosthetics and TBI, and other neuroscience center capabilities.
