Theater Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for set-up and operation of technical theater equipment for various


events throughout the district put on by various schools, departments, and Rockwood community


organizations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Supervise group using Rockwood facilities as needed.
  2. Set up and operate theatrical lighting, sound, and rigging equipment.
  3. Clean and return Rockwood spaces to original condition when event is finished.
  4. Work with custodial department at designated location to ensure space is locked up and secure.
  5. Supervise group using Rockwood facilities when a Rockwood staff member is not present.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

  • Must work well as part of a team and individually.
  • Ability to establish and execute priorities with minimum direction or instruction.
  • Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to judge when situations and/or information should be called to the attention of supervisor
  • Ability to access and work in a variety of locations within Rockwood School District, and work non-traditional hours which may include nights and weekends.
  • Ability to bend, twist, lift and manipulate equipment, supplies and mail, including lifting up to 50 pounds on occasion and 20-30 pounds repetitively.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Minimum 18 years of age or older; high school diploma or GED/HSE preferred.
  2. Basic knowledge of use and operation of theatrical lighting, sound, and rigging systems preferred.
  3. Technical theater management experience preferred.
  4. Reliable transportation to and from various events.

EQUIPMENT USED:
  • Theatrical light, sound and rigging equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Within assigned buildings in Rockwood School District locations.
  • While performing duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand and reach.
