Diesel Mechanic/TechnicianReefer Peterbilt is a second-generation family-owned full-service medium & heavy-duty truck dealership looking for a full-time Diesel Mechanic/Technician at our Auburn Hills location. This individual must be hard-working, self-motivated, and organized.Responsibilities / Description:Ability to perform troubleshooting/diagnostic testing and estimate repairsClock (post) time to each job performed, story causes and corrections on all repair orders, stating if parts replaced were new, used, or rebuiltFollow warranty procedures as set forth by management, i.e., pictures, measurements, tag parts, etc.Effectively perform maintenance inspections and determine when part replacement is necessaryProficiently repair all major power and drive train componentsPerform road tests to verify repairs were completed properly – dependent upon having a CDLContribute to the top productivity and efficiency of the department by staying within estimated timesMaintain a clean and safe environment that complies to OSHA and company standards, as well as within all DOT safety requirementsPerform other duties as assignedRequirements:Must have Paccar/MX Engine experienceA Secretary of State issued Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate/License and/or Trainee Permit in HDTValid State of Michigan driver's license with a good recordAbility to prioritize and handle numerous tasks simultaneouslyEffective written, collaborative, and communication skillsGood mathematical skillsBasic knowledge of computer systems and relevant electronicsProficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic softwareUnrestricted ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, squat, lift & carry up to 50 lbsAbility to work in a shop environment to include 8 - 12 hour days with frequent exposure to weather elementsMust pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, background, and MVR checkBenefits:Career development by way of paid training to qualified individuals, with pay premium for each certificate obtained as a resultHealth, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short Term Disability, Accident Insurance, Critical Illness72 PTO hours available at the time of hire6 paid holidays401K plan with company participationWeekly pay schedulePay Range:Starting at $24/hour - $38.00/hourCompetitive wages based on experienceJob Type:Full-timeSchedule:Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., rotating Saturday, 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.Work Location:In personThis job description is not meant to be inclusive of all job functions, and job functions may be added or changed from time to time as directed by your supervisor.
