Hybrid onsite 2-3 days per week in Portland, OR

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

We are searching for a principal engineer who has a track record of delivering complex enterprise solutions in the cloud. Success in the role requires agility and results orientation, strategic and innovative thinking, a proven track record of delivering software at scale and rigorous analytical skills.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead architectural planning, roadmap feature engineering and DevOps for a solution hosted on AWS.
• Define, evolve and communicate the enterprise vision, mission, and strategy.
• Collaborate with Product and technical leaders to build a cloud services-based roadmap.
• Implement engineering processes and policies that are easy to produce and have high reliability.
• Manage engineering documentation, system and design transfer to production and/or service.
• Estimate development effort, perform resource allocation and plan implementations and system rollouts.
• Develop a solid understanding of critical systems and processes and drive continuous improvements as well as identify and address opportunities for simplification and automation.
• Facilitate adoption of current practices in critical technologies.

• Enterprise solutions: 8 years
• Docker: 5 years
• Kubernetes: 6 years
• Jenkins: 5 years
• CI/CD: 5 years

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in developing and delivering complex enterprise solutions, preferably in public, private, and/or hybrid clouds
• Experience with AWS Cloud Services
• Strong project management skills
• Knowledge of Agile/Lean/DevOps methodologies and strategies and experience with agile software development, modern DevOps practices and release cycles

Preferred:

• AWS certification in areas like Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect and/or SysOps Administrator at the associate or professional level.
• Knowledge of microservices and application modernization techniques
• Knowledge of infrastructure management platforms like WSUS, SCCM, SCOM
• Knowledge of the AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals
