Assistant Golf Professional

Reporting directly to the Director of Golf, this position plays a key role in supporting all aspects of daily golf operations, delivering an exceptional member and guest experience, and assisting in the execution of tournament programming and club events. Essential Responsibilities Golf Operations Assist the Director of Golf in all aspects of golf operations to consistently deliver an exceptional, personalized, and anticipatory experience for members and their guests. Maintain a visible and engaged presence throughout the Golf Shop, practice facilities, and golf course to foster a welcoming, professional atmosphere and ensure a consistently high level of member and guest interaction. Perform daily Golf Shop opening and closing procedures, including reconciliation of petty cash and daily operational setup. Communicate regularly with the Director of Golf regarding operational priorities, member feedback, staff performance, and daily service standards. Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards of the Golf Shop, office, and storage areas in accordance with Club expectations. Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of the game of golf, the Rules of Golf, tournament operations, Golf Shop management, and member programming. Assist and be point-person for vendor fitting days, demo events, and product showcases. Work closely with the Director of Golf and Merchandise Manager to maintain a first-class golf shop environment and retail experience. Maintain proficiency in Golf Genius, GHIN, Club Essential, and Microsoft Office programs. Tournament & Member Programming Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of all Club tournaments, member events, and golf programming. Work closely with the Director of Golf on all facets of the Club’s tournament and event schedule. Assist in the preparation and distribution of member communication emails, tournament materials, and event information. Maintain and oversee the Club’s GHIN handicap system and related reporting functions. Communicate tournament details, important dates, course conditions, and closure notices to members and guests in a timely and professional manner. Collaborative Responsibilities Work closely with the Merchandise Manager to support golf shop merchandising, inventory management, fitting events, apparel promotions, and visual display standards. Assist with receiving, tagging, organizing, and displaying merchandise to maintain a polished and professional retail presentation. Coordinate with Outside Operations staff to ensure all member touchpoints, practice facilities, cart staging, and daily operations are prepared and aligned with the tee sheet and event schedule. Contribute positively to the overall culture, professionalism, and service standards of Old Marsh Golf Club. Be self-motivated with a genuine enthusiasm for promoting the Club’s golf program and enhancing the overall member experience. A successful candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, a high standard of professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining a visible and engaged presence throughout the operation. The official 2026–2027 season runs from November 1 through April 15. Flexible start and end dates may be discussed.
