Job Summary:

Mammographer position in an imaging specialty. This role involves operating mammography equipment to produce radiographic images of the breast for screening exams under the general supervision of a radiologist. The position requires performing timely screening mammograms, ensuring quality and accuracy, and providing patient education to reduce anxiety.

Job Details:

• Shift Time: Days
• Schedule: 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program; Zero (0) to six (6) months of related experience; Competent to perform screening mammograms on men and women aged 18-100 years; Demonstrated skills and knowledge of mammography units and basic positioning skills; Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; Ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently; Attention to detail in clinical and numerical data.

• Additional Information: Performs timely screening mammograms with less than 5% repeat rate; Enters accurate patient history and charges for exams; Explains procedures in understandable terms, gains patient cooperation, and reduces anxiety; Follows departmental and hospital policies; Performs other duties as required by lead technologist or manager.
