Generator Technician

Generator TechnicianOur client is seeking experienced Generator Technicians to support service, maintenance, and repair operations for commercial and industrial power systems. This role performs diagnostics, troubleshooting, inspections, and emergency service on standby generators and related equipment. Most work is local, with occasional travel as needed. Overtime is available based on workload and customer demand.Responsibilities:Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on commercial and industrial generatorsDiagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues on diesel and natural gas unitsComplete load bank testing, fuel system checks, battery testing, and full generator performance evaluationsMaintain accurate service documentation including work orders, inspection reports, and parts usageRespond to customer service calls including occasional after-hours or emergency supportCoordinate with service managers and dispatch to ensure timely completion of scheduled workEnsure compliance with safety standards, environmental procedures, and customer requirementsAssist with equipment startups, commissioning, and customer walkthroughsTravel to customer locations in the region with some overnight trips when requiredRequirements:2 to 5 years of experience servicing commercial or industrial generatorsStrong knowledge of diesel and/or natural gas generator systems, transfer switches, and control panelsAbility to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manualsStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsValid driver's license and clean driving recordAbility to work overtime and participate in on-call rotation as neededExcellent communication and customer service skillsCertifications or factory training (CAT, Cummins, Kohler, etc.) are a plusWhy Join Our Client: Our client is a respected provider of generator services with a strong and growing customer base across commercial and industrial markets.
