Unit Secretary

Unit Secretary Oak Harbor Healthcare is a skilled nursing facility that offers long‑term and short‑term care. The primary purpose of this job position is to perform clerical support in an efficient manner in accordance with established procedures, and as directed by the supervisor. Adheres to and assures compliance with Code of Conduct, facility policies and procedures and all applicable rules, regulations and standards as promulgated by Federal, State, and accrediting agencies or regulating bodies. Assures that all staff complete required compliance training and processes. Receive and follow reception schedule/instructions from the supervisor and as outlined in established policies and procedures. Operate paging/telephone system as required. Answer telephone, determine nature of call and direct caller to appropriate individual or department. Receive request from within the facility and locate personnel through paging system. Receive inquiries and release information in accordance with established policies and procedures. Maintain a current listing of critical residents and/or residents who may not receive phone calls due to their condition. (May refer such calls to Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse). Greet and screen visitors with customer service. May accompany residents on doctor appointments.
