Senior Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive, and commercially sound estimates for a range of projects. You will play a key role in supporting successful tenders and project planning, working closely with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal project teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-focused professional who can combine strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness and sound judgement.


Your responsibilities will include reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes of work, contracts, and other tender documentation; preparing detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and pricing schedules; obtaining and evaluating quotations from suppliers and subcontractors; and identifying risks, exclusions, assumptions, and potential value-engineering opportunities. You will maintain accurate estimating records, contribute to tender submissions, analyse project costs, and support the handover of successful bids to the delivery team. You may also be required to mentor junior estimators, improve estimating processes, and contribute to the development of cost databases and pricing benchmarks.


To succeed in this role, you will have substantial estimating experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure, or a related sector, together with a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, labour costs, and project programming. You should be confident interpreting technical documentation, conducting quantity take-offs, and using estimating or quantity-surveying software, as well as Microsoft Office applications. Strong numerical, analytical, organisational, and negotiation skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing deadlines and produce accurate work under pressure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, commercial acumen, and a collaborative approach are also required. Relevant technical, surveying, engineering, or construction qualifications will be advantageous.
