The Senior Video Editor is a highly skilled storyteller responsible for crafting compelling, emotionally engaging content across Comcast Advertising's portfolio of brands. This role is first and foremost an expert editor with a deep understanding of narrative structure, pacing, visual storytelling, and audience engagement. Working across commercials, docu-style videos, branded content, product marketing, social campaigns, case studies, and executive communications, this individual transforms raw footage into polished stories that drive impact. The ideal candidate brings strong editorial instincts, excellent collaboration skills, and the ability to shape content from concept through final delivery. Experience with motion graphics is essential. Additional expertise in visual effects, 3D animation, and emerging real-time content creation tools is highly valued and can help elevate the visual impact and creative possibilities of the work. This role partners closely with Creative Directors, Producers, Motion Designers, Designers, Writers, and Strategists to deliver best-in-class creative work across a wide range of formats and channels.

Job Description

• Edit high-quality commercials, branded content, documentary-style videos, customer stories, social campaigns, and marketing content.
• Shape compelling narratives through story structure, pacing, performance selection, music, sound design, and visual rhythm.
• Review footage and identify the strongest story arcs, emotional moments, and messaging opportunities.
• Collaborate with Creative Directors and Producers to elevate storytelling and creative impact throughout the editorial process.
• Develop multiple edit approaches and storytelling solutions based on project objectives and audience needs.
• Lead the editorial process from assembly cut through final delivery.
• Ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of creative excellence, brand consistency, and technical quality.

Motion Graphics & Finishing

• Integrate motion graphics, typography, animation, visual effects, and occasional 3D elements into editorial projects to enhance storytelling and audience engagement.
• Collaborate with Motion Designers to seamlessly incorporate graphics systems into video content.
• Create and modify motion graphics independently when appropriate.
• Perform color correction, audio mixing, and final delivery preparation.
• Optimize content for digital, social, streaming, event, and presentation environments.
• Collaborate with internal and external creative partners to incorporate VFX and 3D workflows when they serve the creative concept and business objective.

Creative Partnership

• Contribute creative thinking throughout concept development, production, and post-production.
• Partner with producers to estimate editorial effort, maintain schedules, and deliver work efficiently.
• Provide editorial perspective during pre-production by identifying opportunities to strengthen storytelling before filming begins.
• Participate in creative reviews and help mentor junior editors or freelancers when appropriate.

Innovation & Craft

• Stay current on emerging editorial techniques, production technologies, and AI-assisted editing workflows.
• Recommend process improvements that increase efficiency while maintaining creative quality.
• Continuously explore new approaches to storytelling, editing, sound design, and visual communication.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional video editing experience in an agency, production company, brand, media, or post-production environment.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe After Effects.
• Exceptional narrative storytelling abilities with demonstrated experience editing commercials, branded content, customer stories, documentaries, or similar long- and short-form content.
• Deep understanding of pacing, structure, performance editing, sound design, music integration, and audience engagement.
• Experience working from creative brief through final delivery.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Portfolio demonstrating outstanding editorial craft and story-driven work.
• Familiarity with VFX workflows, compositing, and integrating 3D assets into video content is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience creating motion graphics and animated content in After Effects.
• Background in design, typography, and visual communication.
• Experience creating or integrating 3D content using Cinema 4D, Blender, Unreal Engine, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of AI-powered creative tools including Runway and Adobe Firefly.
• Experience editing for broadcast, streaming, social, and digital-first platforms.
• Experience collaborating with directors, cinematographers, and production teams on commercial or branded content productions.
• Familiarity with visual effects workflows including compositing, tracking, cleanup, and CG integration.

Compensation

New York Pay Range: $91,996.67 - $137,995.01 Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
