Analytics Consultant - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Analytics Consultant for a hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Des Moines, IA, or Dallas, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

In this role, you will manage and resolve enterprise BI support tickets, with a primary focus on Microsoft Power BI. You will troubleshoot a variety of issues ranging from gateway connectivity and performance constraints to report design and platform-level problems. The position requires close collaboration with the Power BI Platform Team, Database Administrators, and vendor support to provide effective solutions and best practice guidance for scalable reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and resolve enterprise BI support tickets, with a majority focused on Microsoft Power BI
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues including Power BI Gateway connectivity, report and dataset access, capacity and performance constraints, and database connectivity problems
• Partner with various teams to analyze semantic models, identify performance bottlenecks, and provide best practice guidance
• Act as a technical consultant by meeting with users to understand business and technical problems and recommend effective solutions
• Collaborate closely with the Power BI Platform Team, Database Administrators (DBAs), and Microsoft Vendor Support

Requirements:

• 4+ years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI, including Performance Analyzer and Capacity Metrics App
• Knowledge of Power Query (M) and the ability to distinguish between performant and non-performant M code
• Understanding of Paginated Reports (SSRS) to optimize report rendering time
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, including Notebooks, Direct Lake, and Data Pipelines
• Experience with On-Premises Data Gateways, including diagnosing connectivity failures and understanding architecture
• Proficiency in Data Modeling to design and assess efficient data models for optimal performance

Desired skills:

• Experience with DAX Studio to identify query inefficiencies and bottlenecks

Pay range: $36.56 - $44.56 per hour
