Employment Law Attorney

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Promptly prosecute cases through written and oral discovery from case inception all the way until trial.
• Fact investigation, legal research and writing, propounding and responding to discovery, and document review.
• Regular communication with clients, experts and defense counsel in an effective and courteous manner.
• Draft necessary motions and participating in informal discovery conferences.
• Engage in settlement discussions, negotiations and attending mediations.
• Actively participate in jury trials and arbitration hearings.
• Calendar and manage court deadlines.

EXPERIENCE:

• 5-10 years of plaintiff's-side employment litigation experience required.
• Proficient legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to autonomously prosecute employment cases from inception until trial.
• Experience taking/defending depositions, preparing and arguing motions, and handling discovery independently is required.
• Trial experience is highly preferred.
• Interest in employment law, including all aspects of individual FEHA/wrongful termination cases and/or wage and hour class actions.
• Must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Great time management and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to act independently and with minimal supervision.
• Must be organized, detail-oriented and a self-starter.
