Job Title: Cardiac Progressive Care RN Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiac Progressive Care, CVICU, Cardiovascular Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 Hours Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of Critical Care experience License: Current RN license Certifications: Current BLS, Current ACLS Must-Have: Current EPIC charting experience Successful completion of prior traveler assignments Willingness to float to other units including Med/Surg Description: The Cardiovascular Unit is a 30-bed unit that provides medical, pre-operative, and post-operative surgical care to admitted patients. Patients are generally classified as medium to high acuity. Patients admitted to the unit are stable, have a high potential of becoming unstable, and possess a higher complexity and existing co-morbidities. These patients require a higher level of nursing care than is typically found on general patient care units. The patient population served consists of young adults through the geriatric community. Examples of patients admitted include those with cardiac diagnoses, pre/post cardiac artery bypass surgery, carotid endarterectomy, acute myocardial infarction, post pacemaker insertion, arrhythmia detection, and congestive heart failure. The patient-to-nurse ratio shall not exceed 1:4. Holiday coverage is required.
