Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) for night shifts. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Shift Notes

Nights from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend and holiday work required. Must be willing to float to various locations within the region.

Unit Information

Patient Capacity: 17 beds, can flex to 22 with hallway beds if staffing allows.
Average Daily Patient Volume: 66 patients.
Nurse-Patient Ratio: 1:4
Common Diagnoses: Stroke, STEMI, sepsis, chest pain, psychosis, and behavioral health cases.
Common Drips: Includes insulin, cardiac drips, sedation, and critical drips.

Responsibilities

Provide high quality nursing care to patients in the emergency room.
Conduct triage and manage patient flow through the ER.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and advanced practitioners.
Monitor patient conditions and administer medications as needed.
Engage with behavioral health patients and demonstrate expertise in handling such cases, if applicable.

Required Skills and Experience

Experience in handling behavioral health cases is preferred.
Ability to perform tasks such as EKGs, blood sugar tests, and phlebotomy.
Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to maintaining a respectful work environment.

Additional Information

Orientation will be provided for one 12-hour shift with an experienced ED RN. The ideal candidate will demonstrate accountability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.
