Job Description
Seeking a skilled Facility Maintenance Technician to add to our team within an industrial automotive manufacturing environment. This technician will maintain and repair building systems and equipment. This role supports both production and office areas through a mix of mechanical, electrical, and general building maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
Maintain and repair building systems including lighting, HVAC, power, ventilation, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and cleaning tasks.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on facility equipment and systems to maximize uptime and reduce unplanned downtime.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and facility-related issues and complete timely repairs using appropriate tools and methods.
Carry out painting work such as painting floors, guard rails, office spaces, and related surfaces, and handle tasks such as hanging bulletin boards and replacing light bulbs.
Perform basic fabrication and welding (TAC) work, including projects such as building or repairing scrap part cages and other facility fixtures.
Use hand tools, power tools, and general maintenance equipment safely and effectively to complete daily tasks.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documentation to support maintenance and repair activities.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
3+ years of facilities maintenance experience in a commercial or industrial environment.
Hands-on experience with facility maintenance and repair, including lighting, HVAC, power, ventilation, and plumbing support.
Strong painting expeirence, including experience with floors, guard rails, office spaces, and related touch-up and finish work.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and building-related issues.
Experience with troubleshooting facility systems, equipment, and general maintenance problems.
Ability to perform carpentry tasks including basic construction, repairs, and installation of fixtures such as bulletin boards.
Proficiency with wiring, basic electrical work, and lighting maintenance within facility guidelines.
Ability to perform drywall repair, patching, and finishing as part of facility upkeep.
Proficient use of hand tools and power tools commonly used in maintenance and repair work.

Work Environment
This role is based in a production manufacturing facility within the vibrations industry, with approximately 90% of the work performed indoors. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with occasional voluntary weekend work for painting or facility projects. The environment is fast paced and may at times require the use of personal protective equipment, including hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes, depending on the task and location within the facility. The position involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment while working around production machinery and building systems.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
