A Day in Your Life at MKS:As an Inspector 2 at MKS, Inc, you will partner with the Inspection team to perform first detailed inspection of incoming or purged parts, materials, components, assemblies, equipment, and document results. In this role, you will report to the Incoming Inspection Supervisor.You Will Make an Impact By:Principal Responsibilities:Responsible for performing first detailed inspection of incoming or purged parts, materials, components, assemblies, equipment, and document resultsCoordinates the collection and disposition of purged materialDetermines or assists in determining methods, sequences and procedures necessary for inspectionWorks from written procedures, drawings, sketches and specificationsGenerates Engineering Change Requests to correct drawing issues noted during inspectionAdapts inspection measuring devices and procedures where necessaryRequired Skills:Completion of high school, vocational training or equivalent is preferred2+ years of related experienceRequires inspection experience, an understanding of inspection techniques, reading, writing and intermediate mathematical skills and the ability to use specialized equipment, read difficult instructions, maintain written records, interpret and utilize blueprints and engineering drawingsPhysical Demands & Working Conditions:Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of timeRegularly requires good manual dexterity and coordinationOccasionally moves/positions objects up to [50bsAbility to remain in a stationary position for [70]% of the timeMust be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understandRegularly requires manual dexterity and coordination of objects below, at and above shoulder levelMust be able to exchange accurate informationOperates in a [professional office and/or laboratory/manufacturing] environmentAbility to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machineryDedication to safety to mitigate hazards, including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heatNoise level in the work environment is usually averageSkills You Bring:Experience using inspection tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, drop indicators, radius gauges, gage blocks, height gauges, and digital multimetersAbility to read blueprints, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, for the items listed in the job summaryMaintain accurate records of inspection activity, including part history records, nonconformance reports, and ship-to-stock requestsWork with a minimum of supervision and effectively handle multiple tasks concurrentlyMaintain a professional working relationship with internal customersAbility to lift material up to 50 poundsGood knowledge of measurement accuracy, measurement terminology.Theory and operation of CMM Coordinate Measuring Machine preferred. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
