Physician

Job Overview The Physician provides medical care and treatment to patients, offers consultation and medical supervision to the clinical staff, and performs routine examinations, diagnoses, and treatments for illnesses and injuries. The role also includes providing immunizations according to medical or school guidelines. Responsibilities Patient Care: Provides quality care, responds to patient calls and messages, attends to patients, maintains patient and business records, observes for signs of abuse or neglect, and recognizes emergencies to respond appropriately. Patient Access: Participates in a physician call schedule and offers patient meeting slots as scheduled. Safety and Infection Control: Assists with safety, environmental, infection control, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance; implements precautions; maintains a clean clinic environment; reports hazards or violations. Medical Director Duties (if applicable): Ensures provider compliance, communicates concerns and initiatives to administration, completes provider assessments, and develops and maintains work and call schedules. Experience & Qualifications Completed residency training. Doctoral degree in Medicine or Osteopathy. Licenses & Certifications American Heart Association Basic Life Support – HCP. Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Medical Physician Licensure through the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. Skills & Abilities Medical skills. Computer software skills. Working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4. Work Shift Variable hours (United States of America). Location East Jefferson General Hospital, East Jefferson Parish, Louisiana.
