Medical Assistant – AFC Urgent Care CiceroAFC Urgent Care is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Medical Assistant to join our growing team in Cicero. As a Medical Assistant, you'll work alongside providers and fellow clinical staff to deliver high-quality urgent care while ensuring an outstanding patient experience.ResponsibilitiesRoom patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaintsPrepare patients for examination and assist providers during proceduresPerform point-of-care testing, specimen collection, EKGs, injections, and other clinical duties within scope of practiceAssist with X-rays (if licensed/trained)Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimensClean, stock, and prepare exam roomsAccurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up careAssist with occupational medicine services, physicals, and workers' compensation visitsMaintain infection control and OSHA compliance standardsSupport front office operations as needed, including patient registration and insurance verificationDeliver excellent customer service to every patient and team memberQualificationsCurrent CPR/BLS certificationPrevious urgent care, emergency medicine, family practice, or primary care experience preferredPhlebotomy experience requiredX-ray certification preferred but not requiredStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentProficient with EMR systems and basic computer skillsBilingual (English/Spanish) preferredScheduleFull-timeFlexible availability requiredMust be available to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as neededClinic hours:Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PMSaturday & Sunday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PMBenefitsCompetitive hourly payMedical, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off401(k) with company matchContinuing education opportunitiesUniform allowanceEmployee discountsGrowth and advancement opportunities within AFCWhy AFC Urgent Care?
