Working under the supervision of the building principal, this position supports multiple classrooms and students to promote self-regulation, positive behavior, safety, and access to learning. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree Experience working with young children in educational, childcare, behavioral, or related settings Ability to establish positive relationships with students experiencing behavioral and emotional challenges Excellent organizational, communication, collaboration and recordkeeping skills Essential Job Functions Support students with behavioral, emotional, and self-regulation needs Assist in implementing behavior intervention and safety plans Reinforce positive behavior expectations and school-wide systems Support students during transitions, classroom instruction, and unstructured times Utilize de-escalation strategies and crisis prevention techniques Respond appropriately to situations involving aggression, elopement, or disruptive behavior Collect and communicate behavioral data as directed Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to promote student success Obtain certification in district-approved crisis prevention programs, including CPI and Ukeru. Ability to maintain the confidentiality and professionalism Attending staff meetings as requested Attending professional learning as requested Consistent and reliable attendance Perform other duties as assigned Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment).
