Catering Manager PHX Airport

SUMMARY

The Catering Manager at Sky Cafe is responsible for overseeing daily catering operations to ensure safe efficient and compliant service delivery. This role provides leadership to frontline teams manages operational performance and ensures all catering transportation and sanitation functions meet company customer and regulatory requirements. The Catering Manager partners with leadership to execute operational plans develop employees and maintain high standards of service safety and cost control in a fast-paced time-sensitive airport environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee daily catering operations including transportation sanitation and commissary functions

• Ensure all operations are executed in compliance with company policies airline requirements and regulatory standards

• Lead coach and develop supervisors and frontline team members to drive performance and accountability

• Monitor operational performance to ensure service level agreements (SLA) and customer expectations are consistently met

• Support staffing plans scheduling and manpower allocation to meet operational demands

• Partner with HR on hiring training performance management and employee development

• Ensure all training requirements and recertifications are completed and maintained

• Maintain strong relationships with airline customers airport authorities and internal stakeholders

• Monitor and manage operational costs labor utilization and budget expectations

• Ensure accurate completion of operational documentation reports and compliance records

• Promote and enforce Safety Management System (SMS) practices including incident reporting and safety audits

• Identify operational gaps and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and performance

• Ensure equipment facilities and materials are maintained in safe and operational condition

• Communicate operational updates challenges and performance metrics to leadership

• Foster a culture of safety accountability and continuous improvement

• Perform any additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• 18 years of age or older

• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment

• Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA RAIC TSA Port Authority U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)

• Communicate effectively in English (reading writing speaking)

• 35 years of operational experience in catering aviation logistics or a related field preferred

• Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience

• Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced time-sensitive environment

• Strong organizational time management and problem-solving skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing operational needs

• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook)

• Knowledge of safety procedures compliance requirements and operational best practices

• Ability to obtain and maintain required airport and security clearances

• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

• Ability to work varying schedules including nights weekends and holidays

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels

Compensation:
