Job Description:
The Power Plant Maintenance Manager directs all maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of generating assets. They oversee preventive/corrective programs, manage staff and contractor performance, and lead maintenance during outages, typically requiring an engineering degree and 5+ years of experience.

A power plant Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Manager directs the daily activities, safety programs, and maintenance schedules of a power generation facility to ensure reliable and cost-effective energy production.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day electricity generation, equipment performance, and auxiliary machinery to meet output goals.
• Coordinate routine servicing, major overhauls, and outage schedules for turbines, generators, and plant systems.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations (such as OSHA and NERC) to prevent accidents.
• Develop and monitor operational (O&M) and capital budgets, manage resource allocation, and track financial performance.
• Direct plant staff and third-party contractors, handle hiring and training, conduct performance reviews, and build team accountability.
• Respond quickly to equipment failures, fires, or grid faults to restore normal operations safely.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field (Master's or MBA preferred).
• 5 to 7+ years of progressive experience in power generation, plant operations, or maintenance, including 2 to 4 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical/electrical power systems, computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), and industry safety standards.
