CAD Technician/Designer- Transportation

Job Description Job Description Our team is looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious, and skilled CAD Technician to support our Transportation team. The CAD Technician will play a crucial role in supporting our team by utilizing CAD software (MicroStation) to produce accurate and detailed drawings and plans for a variety of transportation and civil projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD drafting and experience working in a civil engineering environment, particularly in transportation design.

The position would report in-office at our Indianapolis office. WHAT YOU’LL DO
Utilize CAD software (e.g., MicroStation including InRoads and OpenRoads) to create detailed drawings, maps, and plans.
Collaborate with surveyors and engineers to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings and plans.
Support engineers in completing quantity calculations and takeoffs.
Maintain organized records of drawings and project files for future reference and revisions.
Adhere to quality control standards on drawings to ensure adherence to company standards and project requirements.
Stay updated on CAD software advancements and industry best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Communicate regularly with project managers and design engineers.
Work on several projects concurrently.

WHAT YOU NEED
Minimum 2+ years experience
Proficiency in MicroStation InRoads, OpenRoads, Excel, and Word. AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a plus, but not required.
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret survey data and specifications.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with surveyors, engineers, and other team members.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet project deadlines.
Knowledge of transportation cad drafting principles and practices is required.
