Job Title: Part‐Time Secretarial / Administrative Assistant – Melville, NY
Schedule: Approximately 14–24 hours per week, weekdays (flexible on exact days/times) This position has the potential to be full time in the future.

About the role
I am seeking a reliable, organized part‐time secretarial/administrative assistant to support a small office in Melville. This role is ideal for someone looking for flexible daytime hours and a steady, long‐term position.

This is an in-person on-site position, not remote.

Key responsibilities

• Typing and formatting letters, emails, and basic documents

• Managing calendars and scheduling appointments

• Answering and returning phone calls and responding to emails professionally

• Maintaining simple spreadsheets and basic data entry (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets)

• Filing and organizing electronic and paper records

• Assisting with general office tasks and with clients as needed

• Greeting onsite clients

Skills and experience

• Previous experience in an administrative, secretarial, or office support role preferred

• Worked in the insurance industry and have previous knowledge/experience of working for an agent ( preferred but not required)

• Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and internet research

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Detail‐oriented, organized, and able to work independently

• Discreet with confidential information and professional in demeanor

Hours and pay

• Approximately 14–24 hours per week

• Weekdays; specific schedule can be discussed

• Pay: Hourly, salary negotiable depending on experience and availability
