Quality Inspector

Summary Under general supervision, analyzes defective product in order to identify root causes of failures. Processes auditing in order to identify unfavorable trends in process and product quality for the plant. Involves engineering and production supervision as necessary to identify and correct the cause and to eliminate/minimize future occurrences. Page Break Approves finished products Approves in-process production Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications Conducting visual and measurement tests Returning products for re-work Confirming requirements Assists with QA audits Checks, analyzes and inspects raw materials Work in process goods and finished goods by following the guidelines to ensure procedures and standards are met Identifies issues and recommends preventative and corrective action to mitigate future risk Performs periodic audits to ensure the achievement of quality standards Page Break Tools, Equipment and Materials Page Break Hand Tools Measuring instruments Metal (cold roll, stainless, galvanized, aluminized and aluminum) Page Break Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations May require fork truck license.
