Work Hours for Service Writer/Advisor

• Full-time
• Monday – Friday
• No nights or weekends
• Monday – Thursday 8am – 4pm
• Friday is an 8am start time
• Friday end time varies based on auction volume

Responsibilities for Service Writer/Advisor

• Accurately log part costs, labor hours, and shop fees into the auction management software to ensure correct billing for vehicle sellers.
• Open, track, and close high-volume internal repair orders (ROs) for auction vehicles needing mechanical attention.
• Estimate labor times and efficiently assign repair jobs to mechanics based on skill level and auction deadlines.
• Order mechanical parts from local suppliers, negotiate pricing, and track delivery to minimize technician downtime.
• Track weekly sale units and ensure this is kept at a high priority.

Requirements

Requirements for Service Writer/Advisor

• At least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Able to pass pre-employment screening.
• Good understanding of automotive mechanics, labor guides (e.g., AllData, Mitchell 1), and component costs.
• Computer proficiency.
• Proven ability to multitask and manage vehicles that are high priority.
• Prior automotive retail, parts, independent shop, or dealership experience is preferred.
