Working directly with the founders and executive team, you'll establish the legal foundations of the business while partnering across commercial, corporate, employment, privacy, compliance, fundraising, and operational matters. This is a rare opportunity to shape how legal operates at one of the fastest-growing companies in wealth management.What You'll DoCommercial Contracting & Revenue SupportOwn the full customer contracting lifecycle, including MSAs, SaaS agreements, DPAs, NDAs, order forms, security addenda, and vendor agreementsLead negotiations with enterprise customers, strategic partners, and key vendorsPartner closely with Sales and Customer Success to improve contract velocity while managing legal riskBuild scalable contract templates, negotiation playbooks, fallback positions, and approval processesManage external counsel support where specialist expertise is requiredSupport strategic commercial partnerships and business initiativesData Privacy, Security & Product CounselingOwn and evolve Nevis Wealth's privacy and data governance frameworkAdvise on US privacy requirements (CCPA/CPRA and emerging state privacy regimes) as well as UK GDPR obligationsNegotiate customer DPAs and privacy-related contractual commitmentsPartner with Product, Engineering, and Security teams on data usage, AI-related product features, customer requirements, and information security mattersMaintain privacy documentation, notices, and compliance recordsSupport customer security reviews and legal responses to security questionnairesCorporate Governance & FundraisingManage board resolutions, governance records, corporate filings, and signing authoritiesPartner with Finance on equity administration and cap table governanceSupport future fundraising activity, including investor diligence, financing documentation, and coordination with external counselLegal Operations, Automation & Process DesignBuild Nevis Wealth's legal function from the ground upDesign scalable legal workflows, approval processes, and knowledge management systemsLeverage AI, automation, and legal technology tools to improve efficiency and reduce external counsel spendCreate self-service guidance, playbooks, and training materials for internal stakeholdersEstablish metrics and reporting to measure legal team effectivenessEmployment, IP & General Legal SupportAdvise on employment and contractor matters across the US and UKSupport People Operations on policies and employment-related risk managementProtect company intellectual property and advise on software licensing, open-source software, and AI-related legal developmentsReview marketing materials and external communications for legal riskWho Are We Looking ForJ.D. and active membership in good standing with a US state bar (New York preferred)Approximately 4–8 years of relevant legal experienceStrong experience negotiating SaaS and technology commercial agreementsWorking knowledge of US privacy laws and data processing agreementsExperience supporting technology, fintech, wealth tech, or B2B SaaS businessesStrong commercial judgment and ability to balance legal risk with business objectivesComfortable operating independently with limited structure and high ownershipInterest in legal operations, automation, AI tools, and process designNice To HavePrior startup or high-growth company experienceExperience supporting venture-backed businesses through fundraising or scaling phasesFamiliarity with Delaware corporate law and venture financing transactionsExposure to fintech, financial services, or regulated industriesExperience implementing legal technology or workflow automation solutionsWorking knowledge of UK legal or privacy frameworksWhat Success Looks LikeEstablish scalable legal processes that support business growthImprove contract turnaround times and reduce friction in the sales processBuild practical privacy and governance frameworks appropriate for a scaling fintechReduce reliance on external counsel for routine mattersBecome a trusted advisor to leadership across commercial, corporate, and operational mattersWhy Join NevisBuild the legal function from the ground upWork directly with the executive teamInfluence company strategy during a critical stage of growthGain broad exposure across commercial, privacy, corporate, product, and fundraising mattersOpportunity to grow into the company's senior legal leadership role as the business scales
