Opportunity: Physician (MD) - Obstetrics and Gynecology Job Details: Locums coverage beginning in October for most weekends, subject to availability of other local OBGYNs Expected 9-10 call days per month, starting at noon on Friday until 7am Monday Current need is for sporadic weekends throughout the year 2-4 patient encounters per shift in an 8-bed department Must hold an active Texas medical license Board certification required; credentialing timeframe approximately 30-45 days BLS certification required Manage low risk pregnancies and routine deliveries including vaginal and low forceps Perform FHR interpretation including NST/CST/FSE Perform amniocentesis procedures OB Ultrasounds - Level I/Screening (viability) required Decision-making for c-sections required Handle complicated deliveries including c-sections, breech, multiple births, abruptions, and VBACs Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations required Surgical gynecology including laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures such as tubal ligation, LOA's, and chromotubation Operative/major gynecological procedures including ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, and extensive LOA's Nearest airports are DFW or Love Field (Southwest) Compensation: Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
