IT Infrastructure Project Manager

IT Infrastructure Project ManagerSompo is seeking an experienced and results-driven IT Infrastructure Project Manager to lead and deliver complex infrastructure initiatives across our global enterprise. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management expertise, a solid technical foundation in IT infrastructure, and the ability to navigate a matrixed organization to secure resources and drive delivery. This role requires a proactive leader who can ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget, while maintaining alignment with strategic business goals.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the planning, initiation, execution, monitoring, and closure of multiple complex IT infrastructure projects.Develop and maintain project documentation, including project charters, schedules, budgets, communication plans, risk and issue logs, and status reports.Ensure project governance by conducting regular gate reviews, compliance checks, and reporting on progress against objectives.Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams, including internal technical staff, business stakeholders, and external vendors.Secure project resources, funding, and approvals in collaboration with leadership and business sponsors.Manage large-scale infrastructure programs such as acquisition integrations, data center migrations, decommissioning projects, network and storage implementations, cloud solutions, and office builds/closures.Monitor and analyze project performance metrics, identifying and addressing variances between planned and actual outcomes.Facilitate operational transition and handover to support teams upon project completion.Champion consistent project delivery practices, driving predictability and repeatability in outcomes.Provide transparent communication and regular updates to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and awareness of progress, risks, and issues.Ensure all project deliverables comply with audit, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.Technical QualificationsMinimum 7+ years of IT project management experience, with a proven record of managing concurrent infrastructure projects.Demonstrated success delivering initiatives involving: Data center and server migrationsCloud and hybrid infrastructure solutionsNetwork and storage implementationsOffice builds, relocations, and decommissionsM&A or acquisition-related IT integrationsProficient in Project and Portfolio Management tools such as Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and Excel.Strong understanding of ITIL processes, infrastructure components, and enterprise technology environments.General QualificationsStrong leadership, facilitation, and communication skills to manage cross-functional discussions and decision-making.Excellent analytical, organizational, and documentation skills with acute attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining focus on quality and delivery.Skilled at identifying project risks and dependencies and implementing mitigation strategies.A proactive, customer-focused mindset, committed to anticipating and addressing stakeholder needs.Team-oriented approach with the ability to work collaboratively across business and IT functions.Education and CertificationsBachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred.ITIL or equivalent process framework knowledge a plus.
