Job Title Adjunct Faculty – Honors College Location Commerce, Texas Job Type Faculty Summary Adjunct Faculty refers to an educator hired to teach on a course by course basis throughout an academic year. Responsibilities Teach up to seven semester credit hours (up to two courses) within the Honors College. Instruction delivered on‑campus during the day and/or evening as dictated by student demand and departmental needs. Develop and manage the class syllabus to meet department and college standards. Plan and create lectures, in‑class discussions, and assignments. Assess grades based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations. Assist or mentor students as needed. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the field, or a terminal degree in the field of study or closely related, to teach undergraduate or graduate courses respectively. First‑time‑in‑college (FTIC) teaching experience with freshmen or transfer students. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to multi‑task and work cooperatively with others. Preferred Qualifications College or university teaching experience. Familiarity with transformative learning practices, high‑impact practices, experiential learning, and honors education. Experience with student transition support. Evidence of teaching excellence. Prior relevant industry experience. Security Sensitive All positions are security‑sensitive.
